Waynesville, Brenda McGaha Stiles, 73, went to her eternal home on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at The Landings of Mills River after a courageous and long battle with vascular dementia.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Jewel Setzer McGaha. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Billy Ray Stiles. Brenda retired after 20 years of service from Mountain Projects as a housing assistant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and was a foster grandparent with the church’s preschool program where she was affectionately called Granny B. Brenda also enjoyed baking, sewing and being involved in all aspects of her church.
Brenda is survived by a daughter, Pamela A. McCall and her husband, Reverend O’Neal McCall of Hendersonville; son, Jeffrey Keith Stiles of Waynesville; sister, Thresa Ledford of Waynesville; brother, Harold McGaha of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Keith Turman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Preschool Program, P.O. Box 838, Waynesville, North Carolina 28786.
The care of Mrs. Stiles has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
