Brenda Lynn Whitner

Brenda Lynn Smith Whitner, 64, of Waynesville, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at her residence.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Carroll and Marie Jones Smith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Hubert and Myrtle Smith and maternal grandparents, Ernest and Nina Jones.  Brenda was a member of Ratcliff Cove Baptist Church.  She loved watching her children and grandchildren playing sports and most of all enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 46 years, Terry Whitner; daughter, Shanna Whitner; son, Mitchell Whitner; two brothers, Michael Smith (Jerrie) and David Smith; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Ratcliff Cove Baptist Church with Reverend Tracy Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
