Canton – Bruce Lynn Corzine, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his residence.
Bruce was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late James and Etta Pless Corzine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Kay Duckworth Corzine, who died in 2018 and a son-in-law, Jeff West. Bruce was a member of Faith Community Church and served in the 130 Signal Battalion of the National Guard. In 2010, he retired from Champion International and Murray Guard with 55 years in the paper mill security.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen West Stanley (Dan) of Canton; two sons, Wayne Edward Corzine (Terri), of Rice, Minnesota and Brett Alan Corzine (Stacy) of Canton; a brother, Thomas Lee Corzine of Clyde; ten grandchildren, Adrianne West, Nicole Revis, Mac Stanley, Jake Stanley, Lynn Forner, Dakota Corzine, Aubree Corzine, Hadley Corzine, Madisyn Brown, and Hunter Brown; nine great-grandchildren; and two on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Matt Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to CarePartners Hospice and Messino Cancer Center for the wonderful care that was extended to Bruce and his entire family.
