Candler – Bruce Carlton “Poppie” Privette, 86, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Mission Memorial Campus.

Bruce was a native of Wake County and a son of the late Bruce Roger and Annie May Lancaster Privette.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Hempfling, who died in 1991.  Bruce retired from BASF with 30 years of service.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Lynn Sharp of Eugene, Oregon and Angela Lee Fisher (Brian) of Candler; a son-in-law, Kevin Sharp of Candler; two sisters, Mary Lou Richardson and Shirley Ann Knott both of Wendell, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Joy Nicole Sharp, Lesa Michelle Sharp (Tristen), Samatha Ann Diedrich (James Kenneth), and Shelby Lynn Edwards (Alvin); and two great-grandchildren, Amber Nicole Coburn and Conner Branson Rogers.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Allen Rash.

The care of Mr. Privette has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Candler and an online memorial register is available at “Obituaries” at www.wellsfuneralhome.com
