Brunhilde Verdon

Waynesville, Brunhilde Maria Verdon, age 77, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Caroline Frieda Bierman Hähnlein. She was a prior resident of Missouri and had resided in Haywood County for the past five years. Mrs. Verdon was a very talented seamstress and her talent was expressed in her crafts, needlepoint, and knitting. She also enjoyed reading and dancing and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Larry Louis Verdon; one daughter, Sonja Pangle and her husband, Bob, of Ophelia, Virginia; one sister, Marlene Reimer of Jupiter, Florida; three grandchildren, Tanya Cable and her husband, Kevin, of Waynesville, and Jennifer and Kristine Pangle; three great-grandchildren, Miranda, Caroline and Rachel Cable; and niece and nephew, James and Bonnie Hicks. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Hazelwood Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
