Bryan Stockton

March 25, 1975 — August 31, 2016

Canton – Bryan Todd "Bubba" Stockton loving husband, father, and son, age 41, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of David and Pam Stockton of Canton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lethel and Opal Stockton. He was a 1993 graduate of Pisgah High School where he was an outstanding football player. Bryan was employed with Evergreen Packaging. Bryan affectionately known as "Bubba" was a true gentle giant. Some of his favorite times were spent at the lake where he enjoyed fishing. "Bubba" also loved to cook and his specialty was smoking BBQ. An avid Duke and Pisgah Bears fan, he was loyal to both of his favorite teams. Most of all, Bryan was fiercely devoted to his family and his precious three year old daughter, Brooklynn, was his greatest joy. He will be deeply missed and his memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him. In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his wife of five years, Ronda Stockton; a daughter, Brooklynn Stockton, of the home; maternal grandmother, Hilda Gibson; his mother-in-law, Diane Lawrence of Asheville, two sisters, Tonie Nickoson and Stacey Delancey of the home; a brother, Shane Stockton and wife, Melanie, of Canton; brother-in-law, Ricky Lawrence and wife, Tonya, of Leicester; nephews, Jordan and Bailey Stockton and Malachai Lawrence; two nieces, Makala and Madelynn Lawrence; special friends, the Root Family of Pennsylvania; and special cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Faith Community Church, where he was an active member, with the Reverend Matt Pruett officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Community Church Children's Ministry, 289 Industrial Park Drive, Waynesville, NC 28786 or Pisgah Athletics Association, 1 Black Bear Drive, Canton, NC 28716.
