Waynesville-Buck Billy Postell, age 80, of 99 Kerley Street, was called home to be with Jesus on March 21, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Charles and Hettie Willix Postell. He was a retired pipe welder having worked in construction for more than 40 years. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army and the Coast Guard and was a member of VFW Post 5202. He was a member of East Waynesville Baptist Church for 16 years. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who loved his family very much. He also enjoyed bowling. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie G. Postell; one daughter, Julie Rogers and husband, Dean, of Waynesville; one son, Carroll Postell and wife, Darlene, also of Waynesville; one sister, Linda Young of Carthage, TN; three brothers, George and Jerry Postell, both of Robbinsville and Cecil Postell of Dayton, OH; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Mason and Reverend Carl Presnell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to services.
