Burnice Anders

Burnice Eugene "Gene" Anders, age 74, of Beaver Run Road died Monday, November 10, 2008 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Edgar Jefferson and Ethel Nevada Palmer Anders. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Everette and Jeff Anders and a sister, Marie Anders Wright. He graduated from Grace High School and retired from Eaton Corporation. In retirement, he lived in Canton and attended Welcome Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jeff Anders and Mrs. Everette Anders both of Asheville; a brother-in-law, Roy S. Wright of Mt. Olive formerly of Canton; three nieces, Joy, Helen, and Judy Anders all of Asheville; nephew, Bill Anders and his wife, Anne of Burlington, and Paul Wright of Mt. Olive; several great nieces and nephews; and longtime friend Zetta Higgins and her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Terrell officiating. Burial will follow at Ashlawn Gardens of Memory in Asheville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
