Burrell Johnson

Burrell Wayne Johnson, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Harley and Allie Dills Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Charles Johnson. Burrell was a farmer and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and walking the beautiful mountains in North Carolina. He is survived by five children; three girls and two boys; four sisters, Edith Stewart of Candler, Alice Morgan and her husband, Tim, of Oregon, Hazel Murray and her husband, Gerald, and Christine Baker all of Candler; numerous grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burrell had a special place in his heart for his caretaker and niece Barbara Derrick. Private services will be held.
