Burton Green

Waynesville-Burton Leonard Green, age 73, of Jade Street, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late Leonard and Georgia Allison Green. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Leming Green, who died in 1999; and by a sister, Roberia Smith.

He was a retired employee of the Dayco Corporation and was a building contractor. He was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church, which he built.

He is survived by three sisters, Edith Grant, of Waynesville, Margie Lowdermilk, of Clyde and Beverly Kates and her husband Carroll, of Cumming, Georgia; one brother, Berlion Green and his wife Nancy, of Waynesville; several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at the Dellwood Baptist Church. Reverend Jason Ledford and Reverend Thomas Kemp will officiate. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville. At other times, the family will be at the home of the brother, 9 Fairway Hills Drive, Waynesville.
