C. Edwards

Waynesville, C. Ray Edwards, 69, of Covington, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Newton Medical Center. Mr. Edwards was born in Waynesville, NC to the late Harry Ralph and June Henry Edwards. He worked for Sears for 37 years in management and as an owner of the Sears in Covington. He was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church in Covington, GA, the Covington Rotary and Elk's Lodge where he served as president of the Elks for several years. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Beth Edwards of Covington, GA, two daughters, Carole (John) Christian of Suwanee, GA, and Kimberly (Larry) Whitten of Hoschton, GA; two sons, Denny (Dana) Darby and Kevin Darby all of Covington, GA; a brother, Ralph (Jean) Edwards of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Darlene Warren of Asheville, NC, and Brenda Allison of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Courtney Christian, Ashley Whitten, Tyler Darby, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend James Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lovejoy United Methodist Church general fund, 12835 Highway 36, Covington, GA 30014.
