April 13, 1936 — August 14, 2008

Waynesville, Callie Ruth Vinson Lewis, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at her residence. A native of Macon County, she lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Furman and Effie Irene McClure Vinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Vinson and a sister, Norma Conard. She was retired from Dayco and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She is survived by her husband, Hugh Vance Lewis, Sr.; one daughter, Sherry Banks and husband, Robert, of Waynesville; five sons, Clay Thomas and wife, Carla, of Galveston, TX, Keith Thomas and wife, Laura, of Hendersonville, Hugh Lewis, Jr. and wife, Laura Beth, and Mitchell Lewis and wife, Kim, all of Clyde, and Michael Lewis and wife, Tracy, of Waynesville; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Private graveside services were held at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
