"Loving Husband"

Hot Springs, Calvin G. Alvarez, 74, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his residence near Max Patch in North Carolina.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Calvin was the son of the late Bernard Valenti Alvarez and Josephine Fleming Trantham. Calvin earned his PhD from the University of Florida and served in the Air National Guard. Besides his successful business career, he enjoyed raising Scottish Highland cattle, all things that high mountain farm living requires plus sharing his life with family and friends he met while living in Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and finally in North Carolina. He loved and respected and will be missed by many.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Judi Marable Alvarez, and his faithful dog, Maxie Girl; as well as two brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
