Calvin Francis

Leesville- Funeral services for Calvin T. Francis, 84, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Lake Murray Baptist Church. Mr. Francis will be placed in the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with visitation prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville, NC and graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Caughman-Harman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Murray Baptist Church, 1001 Hwy. 378 West, Lexington, SC 29072. Mr. Francis was born November 1, 1926 in Clyde, NC and passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010. He was the son of the late Claude T. Francis and Leo Brown Francis. Mr. Francis was employed with DuPont at Savannah River Plant. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his retirement on Lake Murray. Mr. Francis was involved in his church drama "This Man Called Jesus" for 25 years mostly playing the third wise man. Mr. Francis was a member of Lake Murray Baptist Church and a former member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Francis is survived by his daughter, Terry Turner of Lexington, SC; son, Stephen Francis of North Augusta, SC and grandson, Craig Francis of Aiken, SC. Lexington Chapel is in charge of the arrangements in South Carolina.
