Calvin Ray

Waynesville, Calvin "Sonny" Ray, age 64 died Friday, September 4, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Albany, Georgia and had resided in Jacksonville, FL from 1988 until 2004 before coming to Haywood County. He was the son of the late Calvin Carter and Marquerite Story Ray. "Sonny" was employed by The Cherokee Indian Hospital in the financial administration department since 2004 and was a United States Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bernadette Ray, one brother, William S. Ray (Jackie) of Arlington, GA; his adored pets, Molly, Katy, Abby and Samantha; and was also preceded in death by his loving pets, Fonzie, Suprina, Maggie, Mindy and Tara. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
