Carl Alcorns

Waynesville-Carl Thomas Alcorns, age 54, of Maggie Valley, formerly of Florida, died September 3, 2003 at VA Medical Center at Oteen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Alcorns, Sr. He had worked with many of his friends at Clark and Leatherwood. He was a US Navy veteran having served in Vietnam with his brother, Edward Alcorns, Jr. on the same ship simultaneously while their father was serving in the US Navy Seabees.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Carter Alcorns of Maggie Valley; three daughters, Kelly Alcorns of Maggie Valley, and Michelle Governalle and Trista Gallina, both of Largo, Florida; one son, David Alcorns of Largo, Florida; two grandchildren, Julia Governalle and Andrea Gallina; his mother, Esther Moriarty Alcorns of Morristown, Tennessee; four brothers, Edward Alcorns, Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana, Joe Alcorns of Michigan, Ronald Alcorns of Wildwood, Florida, and Donald Alcorns of Morristown, Tennessee; and one sister, Joyce Dimitro of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Private family services will be held. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 on Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
