Waynesville-Carl William Cutshaw, age 89, of 57 Mill Street, passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Julius P. and Hazel Burdine Evans Cutshaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Drusilla Sheehan Cutshaw, who died on January 2, 2005; two sisters, Willie Alice Pitts and Mae Cutshaw; and six brothers, Joe, Tommy, Kenneth, Robert, Truman, and Troy Cutshaw. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and was employed for 37 years at BrandRex, retiring in 1980. Carl loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed working in his garden. He was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church and had a very generous and giving spirit and always helped people in need. He is survived by two daughters, Jeannette Henson and her husband, Ralph, and Phyllis Plemmons and her husband, Mike, all of Waynesville; one sister, Grace Caldwell and her husband, Wayne, of Canton; three grandchildren, Bryan Lindsay and his wife, Denise, of Waynesville, Phillip Henson of Atlanta, GA, Michelle Lindsay of Knoxville, TN; four great grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Lindsay, Dillon Goetzke, and Kane Widlicka, all of Waynesville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend T.M. Gibson, Reverend Virgil Holloway, and Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Harold, Bobby, and Dean Cutshaw, Beacher Phillips, Dwight Sheehan, and Joey Moody.
