Carl Desylvia Gore

Carl Desylvia Gore, 79, of Asheville passed away on September 15, 2022 at Mission Hospital.  A native of Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Mason C. Gore and Minnie Lee Gore. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his wives, Rosezell Paula, Barbara Jean, and Barbara Ann.

Carl proudly served in the US Army, the Army National Guard, and the reserves.  Following his military service, he attended Howard University where he studied Civil Air Patrol, computer technology, professional photography, and law enforcement.  He embarked on a lengthy career in law enforcement.  He also owned his own professional photography business.  He retired to Asheville, NC about ten years before his death.

He is survived by his daughters, Kesha Rand and her husband, Patrick, Masonna Johnson, Heavenly Gore and Nyia Gore; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial celebration of life is planned for Friday, September 15, 2023 in Washington, DC.

The care of Mr. Gore was entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
