Carl Eugene Mintz, 74, of Leicester, passed away on September 14, 2010. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late William Otis and Emma Cogdill Mintz. Carl was a member of the Masonic Lodge 192 in Tolono, IL before moving back to North Carolina. He proudly served his Country as a Marine.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean West Mintz; son, Carl Mintz, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Urbana, IL; daughters, Elaine Weagner and husband, Dave, of Bowling Brook, IL, Carolyn Harden, and husband, Dave, of Tolono, IL, Sherry Huddleston, and husband, Jay, of Herrick, IL and Shannon Parker, and husband, Bobby, of Canton, NC; brothers, Leroy Mintz and wife, Emily, of Thomasboro, IL, Jerry Mintz of Columbia and Bruce Pierce of Candler, NC; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17th from 2-4PM at the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn, Candler. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John F. Keever Solace Center, 60 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
