Carl Henry Towe, Jr.

Carl Henry Towe, Jr., known lovingly as Carl, peacefully entered into the arms of his Heavenly Father on February 12, 2025. Born on May 23, 1941, in Haywood County, NC, Carl’s life was a bright tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a sense of humor that brought joy to all those fortunate enough to know him.

Carl dedicated three decades of his life to UPS, where he not only excelled in his career but also made lasting friendships that would enrich his life further. However, it was not just in his work that he shone; it was in his role as a father and husband that Carl truly made an indelible mark. He was an outstanding caregiver, consistently demonstrating the boundless love he held for his family. He always made it a point to express his affection, ending every phone call with those cherished words, “I Love You.” Each time they heard those words, his family felt the warmth of his loving spirit.

Carl’s jubilant personality, coupled with his wonderful sense of humor, made him a blessing to those around him. He approached life with a smile, spreading joy and laughter, and creating memories that will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Dortha "Dot" H. Towe, who stood by his side through all life's seasons. Their bond was a testament to a love that endures over time. Carl is also survived by his adoring sons, Rick Towe and wife Lisa Metcalf Towe, and Gary Towe and wife Lisa Woody Towe, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. His grandchildren, Tiffany Proffitt and husband Matthew, and Bryan Towe and wife Megan, along with his great-grandchild Parker Towe, will remember him as a guiding light in their lives, cherishing the moments they shared.

Carl is also remembered fondly by his brothers, Carroll Towe and David Towe, who shared in the laughter and love of a remarkable family life filled with treasured memories.

Though Carl has been reunited with his beloved parents, Carl Henry Towe, Sr. and Edith Hill, his stepmother Virginia Towe, and his brother Charlie Towe, the void he leaves is deeply felt by all who knew him. His spirit, dedication, and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of those he touched.

We will remember the laughter he brought, the lives he enriched, and the profound love he radiated. His legacy will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he impacted. We take comfort in knowing that he rests peacefully, surrounded by the love he so freely gave during his remarkable life.

Per the wishes of Carl, no funeral services are planned at this time. 

The care of Mr. Towe has been entrusted with care of Wells Funeral Home, Canton, North Carolina.
