Carl Towe, Sr.

"1918 – 2016" Candler – Carl Henry Towe, Sr., passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Vernon Fred and Ethel Hendrix Towe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Capps Towe, who died in 2008; and two grandchildren. Carl retired in 1973 from Champion International with 32 ½ years. He is survived by four sons, R. David Towe and wife, Lenora, of Hendersonville, Carl Henry Towe, Jr. and wife, Dortha, of Candler, E. Carroll Towe of Candler, and Charles Ray Towe and wife, Linda, of Caldwell, Idaho; one sister, Betty Burrell of Canton; one brother, James E. Towe of Candler; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
