Carol Williams

Canton, Carol Liner Williams, age 71 of Farmvale Place, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Hubert and Jane Walker Liner. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bo Liner and two grandsons, Tyler and Joseph Surrett. She attended Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. Carol loved working in the garden, popping popcorn and buck dancing. She enjoyed fellowshipping with anyone who would listen and never met a stranger. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ernie Williams of Canton; two daughters, Pam Medford Schilling of Candler and Shawn Medford Surrett of Canton; one brother, Bruce Liner of Richmond, VA; 5 grandchildren, Harmony, Riley and Tia Schilling and Justin and Colton Surrett; and one great-granddaughter, Gannon Hollar. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Leyton Alan Mears will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
