Carolyn Fulbright

"1933 - 2016" Asheville - Carolyn Ensley Fulbright, age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her residence. A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Humphrey Phillip and Beulah Betheenia DePriest Ensley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Commander Robert Fulbright of the United States Navy and was the only sister of seven brothers, all from Sylva. She was a graduate of Sylva High School and Blanton's Business College. Carolyn retired from Vulcan Materials Rock Quarry in Candler. From a young age, Carolyn learned the value of a dedicated work ethic where she learned from growing up and living on her family farm. She was loyal to her family and loved each of them dearly. She enjoyed many special friends, loved country and gospel music and all varieties of flowers. Carolyn will be deeply missed. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Deporter of Oxford, NC; a son, Todd Hall of Candler; one grandson, Clay Hall of Charlotte; many beloved nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren; and a special friend and next door neighbor, Mabel Bullard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Robert Blanton officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
