Carolyn Halsema

Waynesville, NC - Carolyn Chinn Halsema, age 66 of Palmer Road, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at The Homestead. She was a native of Tippecanoe County, IN and had lived in Charleston, SC until moving to Haywood County 10 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Donna Newtson Chinn and was the wife of the late John Patrick Halsema, who died in 1997. Carolyn was also preceded in death by one brother Jim Chinn. Carolyn was a loving Christian lady, who enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. She was a master gardener. She is survived by one daughter, Shannon Moody and her husband John of Waynesville, NC and Charleston, SC; two brothers, Rick Chinn of Lafayette, IN and Jerry Chinn of California; one grandson, Alex Moody and several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
