Waynesville, Carolyn Virginia Fisher Owen, age 75, of the Jonathan Creek Community, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Vincent and Myrtle Diana Alley Fisher and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Sharp and Doris Jaynes and three brothers, Bob, Ed, and Arthur Fisher. Carolyn was of the Baptist faith and always thought of others before herself. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and always raised a plentiful vegetable garden, but above all, she loved her family placing them first in her life. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kirby Owen; two daughters, Donna Silvers and her husband, Dewayne, of Jonathan Creek and Wanda Campbell and her husband, Bart, of Maggie Valley; one son, William Duckett and his wife, Linda, of Jonathan Creek; two sisters, June Evans of Clyde and Nell Silvers of Jonathan Creek; six grandchildren, Jason Duckett of Tucson, Arizona, Danielle, Colby, and Adam Silvers, all of Jonathan Creek and Kayla and Cody Campbell of Maggie Valley; and two great-grandchildren, Rylan Silvers of Jonathan Creek and Bobby Duckett of Tucson, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Philip Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Allison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
