Carolyn Payne

Candler–Carolyn Ruth Payne, age 63, of Morgan Cove Road, went to be with Jesus on the evening of Thursday, December 4, 2008, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of Lucille Payne of Candler and the late J. B. Payne. She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. Carolyn was a loved and admired daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her or were fortunate enough to have made her acquaintance. She touched many lives in numerous ways and was a good and faithful servant. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Robin Clouse of Marion and Rhonda Rose of Charlotte; two sisters, Barbara Hipps and Cleata Wilson both of Candler; two brothers Ralph and Dale Payne both of Candler; three grandchildren, Nathan Kearns of Michigan, Natasha Schnell of Charlotte, and Nicholette Haynes of Asheville; two great-grandchildren, Hadden and Hailey Schnell of Marion Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
