Carra Lee Haney

Canton – Carra Lee Haney, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Skyland Terrace Nursing Home in Waynesville, North Carolina

Carra Lee was a native and life-long resident of Haywood County, born on November 29, 1930 to the late Chancy and Flora Jones. She spent her life as a homemaker, caring for her home, children, and her loving husband, Jack Haney, who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Marion V, Billy, Ruth, Barbara, Nancy, and Wilma.

She is survived by two sisters, Betty Arrington of Waynesville and Sarah Ellen Hicks of Winston Salem; her children, Gary Haney (Madelon) of Canton, Roger Dale Haney (Kyra) of Bakersfield, California, and Sandra Mann (David) of Clyde; several grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Finchers Chapel Cemetery with the Reverend Kevin Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fincher Chapel Cemetery Fund, 2883 Hyder Mountain Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
