Carrie Amos

Canton-Carrie Rhodarmer Amos, age 96 of 30 Shady Branch Road, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 at her home.

She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Sewell and Lyda Henson Rhodarmer. She was also preceded in death by a son, Sewell Dean Amos who died in 1991 and one grandson. Mrs. Amos was a homemaker and was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Abe Amos of Canton, one daughter, JoAnn Grasty and her husband Bill of Richmond, VA, two sons, LaRue Amos and his wife Bobbie of Decatur, AL and Jack Amos and his wife Adina of Canton, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Love officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, Home Health Building, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or to Morning Star United Methodist Church, 2535 Dutch Cove Road, Canton, NC, 28716.
