Carrie Burnette

Canton-Carrie Ellen Sisk Burnette, age 77, of 16 Collette Street, died Saturday, June 28, 2003 at the Brian Center in Waynesville.

She was a native and life long resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Moody and Etta Rowe Sisk.

She was a member of Canton Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking and tending to her flower garden.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Luther Burnette; two daughters, Mary Ann Walker and her husband, Arthur of Asheville and Nancy Garrison and her husband, Marvin of Fairview; two sisters, Audie Pressley of Candler and Barbara Matteson of Canton; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The Reverend Terry Penland and Reverend Vaughn Burnette will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the services, at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.

The pallbearers will be Robert King, Earl Garrison, Wade Pressley and David Matteson.
