Carrie Cooke

September 25, 1925 — May 10, 2010

Carrie Sue Blaylock Cooke, age 84, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Mary Ellen Revis Blaylock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Cooke Shook. Carrie was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ralph Haynes Cooke; two sons, Roger Cooke of Mills River, and Randall Cooke of Brevard; one daughter, Jill Cooke Rainwater of Mills River; one sister, Bessie Fish of Canton; two brothers, Shay Blaylock of Canton, and Charles Ray Blaylock of Clyde; ten grandchildren, Erin Shade, Christopher Cooke, Brandon Cooke, Nathan Cooke, Daneya Shook, Patrick Cooke, Carrie Prado, Caleb McCall, Nyla Dodson, and Caitlyn Rainwater; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
