Catherine Bumgardner

Catherine R. Bumgardner, age 82, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late T. R. and Anna Birchfield Ray. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Ammons and her second husband, Woodrow Bumgardner. She was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. Catherine's main focus was her children and grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Ammons and his wife, Gayle, and Steve Ammons and his wife, Kathy, all of Canton; a daughter, Patsy Foster and her husband, George, of Canton; four sisters, Virginia Millard, Geraldine Holland, Gladys Davis, and Joyce Warren; three brothers, Charles, Bud, and Jerry Ray; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Doug Love officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 486 E.
