Catherine Corpening

Canton - Catherine Joyce Harrison Corpening, age 88, of Asheville died Friday, January 10, 2003 at Park Ridge Hosptial.

She was a native of Plymouth, NC and had resided in Haywood County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Edloe and Carthene Bateman Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Corpening, Sr., who died in 1976.

Gardening and animals were her passion. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Canton.

She is survived by two sons, Charles L. Corpening Jr. of Basking Ridge, NJ and Bradford G. Corpening of Lexington, SC; a brother John Ward Harrison of Eureka Springs, AR; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13th at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Steve Miller officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Catherine's memory to your local Humane Society.
