Canton - Catherine Rhinehart Hannah, 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late William Robert and Agnes Stamey Rhinehart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Nancy Bell. Catherine worked for 17 years at Champion International having retired in 1968, Belk-Hudson Department store, Plaza Jewelry and Gifts, and was a crossing guard for several years. She was a member of Sunny Point Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Earl Hannah; one daughter, Lisa Mathis and husband, Wayne, of Canton; one sister, Patty McNeil and husband, Ray, of Canton; a brother, Jack Rhinehart of Belmont; two grandchildren, Drew Mathis and wife, Brooke, and Tyler Mathis and fiancé, Felicia Woods; and three great-grandchildren, Baylee, Brinley, and Aubree.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Sunny Point Baptist Church with the Reverend Shannon O'Riley and Reverend James Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-a-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
