Catherine O'Brien

Maggie Valley, Catherine Julie O'Brien, age 84, of 165 Nottingham Road, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Mission Hospital. A native of Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary LaFleur was also preceded in death by her beloved companion, Harold "Shag" Hibbits. She was a waitress at of Maneros in Hallandale, Florida for many years and attended St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. Catherine was a colorful and enduring woman. Her passion was horse racing, and she traveled the circuit for nearly 18 years. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by a daughter, Rachelle Fehling and her husband, Tom, of Maggie Valley; two brothers, Russell LaFleur and his wife, Joyce, and Winfred LaFleur and his companion, Brenda, all of Ontario, Canada; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Stephanie, and Darrin; ten great-grandchildren, Amber, Cody, Devin, Jeremy, Bailey, Jasmine, Casey, Jenna, Morgan, and Jerry Lee; and five great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Maddie, Hayden, Camden, and Crash. No services are planned.
