Cathleen Smith

Cathleen "Buck" Smith "1917 – 2013" Canton – Cathleen "Buck" Smith, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late John Samuel and Early Frances Gaddy Pardue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Edward Smith, who died in 2001; her son, Floyd Lee Smith; her son-in-law, Bracy Deese; two sisters; and one brother. She loved to crochet, embroidery, and work in her garden. Cathleen was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and she was a loving servant of the whole family. She is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann Deese of Canton; four grandsons; one granddaughter; ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
