Cecile Thomasson

Canton, Cecile Laine Thomasson, 77, of Old Clyde Road, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Howell Hansel and Samantha Shelton Taylor and was also preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers. Laine loved to play bingo. Laine is survived by three daughters, Pennie Brown (Clayton) and Sandra Calloway (James) of Canton and Barbara Garcia (Cayetano Real) of Florida; two sons, Timothy Thomasson (Shanna Leonard) of Louisiana and Brian Thomasson of Canton; two brothers, Hansel Taylor (Polly) and Roger Dale Taylor (Chris) of Canton; nine grandchildren, Christina Thomasson, Anthony Mintz, James, Greg and Nick Calloway, Jessica and Jonathan Garcia and Reynel and Neomelin Real; and eight great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at North Canton Baptist Church with Reverend John Parris, Reverend Barbara Miller and Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Brian Center of Waynesville Activity Fund, 516 Wall Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
