Newport, Tennessee – Charlene Renée Donaldson Adkins, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at her residence. She was a native of Haywood County, where she lived most of life, and was the daughter of the late James Bell Donaldson. Charlene was employed as a physical therapist with Aegis Therapies and a member of Flats of Spring Creek Baptist Church. She was a special person who will be remembered for being selfless, caring and always placing her family and friends before herself. She enjoyed spending time outdoors working around her home, gardening and especially going fishing. Charlene adored her niece and great nieces and nephews, loving and caring for them as they were her own. Her smile will be cherished by all who knew her. Charlene is survived by her mother and stepfather, Jo Ann and Robert Harvey of Waynesville; her husband of eight years, Cordell Adkins; grandmother, Wilma Case Allen, of Waynesville; step-son, Bryan Cordell Adkins and his wife, Corrine, of Glen Shaw, Pennsylvania; a sister, Leisa Donaldson Hefner, of Candler; step-grandson, Blair Adkins; niece, Haven Dice and her husband, Craig; great niece and nephews, Amelia, Brayden and Josiah Dice; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Woody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Woody Cemetery Maintenance Funds, c/o James H.
