Charles Alfieri

Charles Domonic Alfieri, 79, of Candler, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late Charles John and Rose Marie DeMore Alfieri. He was also preceded in death by his son, Vinny Alfieri, grandson, Levi Alfieri, great-granddaughter, Autumn Ball, brothers, Nick and Richard Alfieri and a sister, Virginia Jacobwicz.

Chuck was born in Erie, PA on October 21, 1929 and lived most of his life in Asheville. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of New Life Community Church. He worked as a supervisor for Sky City until their closing and then worked for Perfection Gear until his retiring after 30+ years of service. He loved building projects and being with his family and friends. Chuck was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and a strong but gentle man.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Pat Alfieri of the home, sons, Chucky and wife Dee-Dee of Stanwood, WA, Jimmy Alfieri and Janet, daughters, Kitty Spurrier and husband Steve, Kim Watson and husband Shelby all of Asheville, 11 grandchildren, three and 4/9ths great-grandchildren, sisters, Violet Salupo, Rosanne South and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 PM on Monday, October 19, 2009 at New Life Community Church with Pastor Steve Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
