Charles Cagle

Maggie Valley, Charles M. "Dude" Cagle, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 2 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Pearson Floyd and Willie Mae Fie Cagle and also preceded in death by children, Cathy Darlene and Dale McKinley Cagle, and three brothers. Dude was simple man who owned his own produce stand in Maggie Valley for 13 years. It was there that he developed wonderful long-lasting relationships by being himself, whimsical, people-loving, and considerate to all. Dude was of the Baptist faith and loved his Savior and family very much and will be missed by all. Dude is survived by his wife of 33 years, Maggie Caldwell Cagle; a daughter, Donna Carver; sons, Ricky Dean Cagle and his wife, Lori and Steven Charles Cagle, all of Maggie Valley; three stepdaughters; a sister, Mary Ann Whorley; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Henry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
