Charles Gorman "Bud" Clark, age 84, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Gorman and Lillie Anders Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Jean Clark, who died in 2001; one brother, Doyle Clark; and one sister, Louise Israel. Bud's passion in life was farming and raising Black Angus cattle. His true loves were his family and friends. Bud was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1955 on battleship Iowa. He is survived by a daughter, Cathy Poe and her husband, Harold, of Shelby; one son, Jeff Clark and his wife, Karen, of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Vergie Williams, Gladys Wilson, and Melita Burnette, all of Candler; a special friend, Jeanice Laughter; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Clark and his wife, Bethany and Jason Clark. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Phillip Park officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel of Faith. Memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Hospice House, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
