Charles Craige

Charles Robert Craige, age 86, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Charles was the oldest of three sons born to the late William and Pearl Craige on August 1, 1927. He was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Billy and Margaret Craige. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for 26 years at Enka as a rayon chemist. Later owned and operated Craig's Gifts in Waynesville, NC for 30 years. Charles is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 65 years, Katherine Reynolds Craige and three daughters, Kathy (Ron) Anderson of Fayetteville, Georgia, Patricia (Wayne) Haskins of LaGrange, Georgia and Reneé (Ricky) Trantham of Canton; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy (Peggy) Craige; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road with the Pastor Mike Boyd officiating.
