Charles Davis

Canton – Charles DeWayne Davis, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at The Oaks of Brevard. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Cartie Plemmons Davis. Charles was employed with Mathew's Ford where he worked as a mechanic. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Charles loved the Lord and was a member of the Calvary Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, music, his pets, and spending time with his loving family. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Laura L. Silver – Davis; a daughter, Julia Dawn Davis, a son, Roger Dale Davis; a sister, Barbara Goodson and her husband, Charlie, of Waynesville; two brothers, Don Davis and his wife, Patty, of Gallatin, Tennessee and Mike Davis of Clyde; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend John H. Swanger III and the Reverend J. D. Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesville. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Road Baptist Church, 77 Sutton Loop, Waynesville, NC 28786.
