Charles Frady

"In Loving Memory"

Waynesville, Charles Wesley Frady, age 88, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Pigeon Valley Assisted Living.

Charles was a native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert Howard and Clara Belle Davis Frady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Hyatt Allen Frady; and a brother, Samuel S. Frady. Charles was a graduate of Waynesville Township High School. After graduation he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. After returning home from service he attended Blanton's Business College, followed by receiving his B.S. degree from Western Carolina University. Charles was formerly employed by Champion International Paper, and was a former teacher at Bethel High School. The majority of his career was as a federal employee, an account manager, with U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Services where he retired in 1989, with 30 years of service. Charles was a member of Allen's Creek Baptist Church. He was musically inclined playing several instruments and singing.

Charles is survived by a step-daughter, Carolyn Allen Sparks Leachman (Timothy), of Danielsville, Georgia; step-son, William H. Allen (Frances), of Clemson, South Carolina; three sisters, Stella F. Messer (Handy), Mary F. Garner (Don), all of Clovis, California and Bonnie F. Wagers, of Pueblo, Colorado; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Scotty Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
