Waynesville-Charles Turner Gaddy, age 71, of the Ratcliffe Cove Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, the son of the late Joseph T. and Edna Clark Gaddy. He served as a US Marine Corps Master Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed stonemason for 40 years retiring in 2000. He was also a professional guide in Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska. Charles was a member of East Waynesville Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carolyn Ray Gaddy; one son, William "Will" Stuart Caldwell and his wife, Michelle; one brother, William "Bill" Bruce Gaddy; three grandchildren; Colby, Noah, and Kaleigh Caldwell, all of Waynesville; and many special friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Walls and Reverend Carl Presnell officiating. Burial will follow at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the services and at other times, the family will be at the residence.
