Candler-Charles Wilson Huffman, age 90, of 36 Bradshaw Circle, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace. He was a native of Haywood County and was preceded in death by his 1st wife Eva Marie Holland Huffman. He retired from Champion International with 30 years of service. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was former member of West Canton Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Elouise Cole Huffman of Candler, two sons, Charles Steven Huffman of Joanna, SC and his fiancee Mitzi Webster, Gerald Randall Huffman of Carolina Beach, NC, a twin brother Howard Huffman of Clyde, one sister, Betty Moore of Texas, 2 grandchildren, Charles Alan Huffman and his wife Dana of Mebane, NC and Kristina Marie Lorenz and her husband Jason of Arden and one great-grandson, Thomas Wilson Huffman. He is also survived by two step-daughters and their husbands, Jane and David Pruden of Asheville and Joanne and Fred Ivey of Candler, one step-son and his wife, Bruce and Paula Cole of Cuhutta, GA. There are 8 step-grandchildren and a step great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Reverend Gene King will officiate. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
