Charles Maguire

Waynesville-Charles Elmore Maguire, age 88, of 56 Cortland Court, died on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Dover, NH, he was the son of the late Leo H. and Addie E. Lord Maguire and was also preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Eastman Maguire, who died in 1997 and a son, Timothy A. Maguire. He was Marketing Director for Universal Wholesalers Exchange, Inc. He was a member of SPEBSQSA Barbershop Quartets, "Four Sea Breezes" and "Yankee Clippers" of Ft. Lauderdale and "Little Off the Top" of Waynesville. He was a past member of the Grange and NH State Grange "Knights of Pythias, " Master Pomona NH Grange and National Grange, and past president of Maggie Valley Civic Association 1994-1995. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Matthews and husband, Jerry, of Waynesville; two sons, Charles Thomas Maguire, of Davie, FL, and Carl Patrick Maguire of Hollywood, FL; one grandson, Clinton Timothy Matthews and wife, Kalyn, of Clyde; one great granddaughter, Alexandra Maguire Matthews, of Clyde; and a special friend, Delores C. Jenkins, of Waynesville. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at a later date at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
