Charles Ronald Moore

Canton, Ronny, "Rocky" Moore, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, Rocky, aka Uncle Rocky, Grumbler, and Smokey was a son of the late Charles Wilson and Frances Woody Moore.  In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by his stepfather, Gene Johnson, sister, Kathi Lance and great-niece, Willow Rain.  Rocky was employed for over 35 years with Westway, ending his career as a supervisor.  In his down time, he enjoyed Barbecuing, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and taking drives along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.  Rocky was also proud of the fact that he was a direct descendant of the Cataloochee Valley Settlement.

Rocky is survived by his two daughters, Djuana McIntosh, and her husband, David and Maleyah Viereck; two sisters, Glenna Viereck and Christal Schlegel, and her husband, Stephen; niece, Vanessa Molina; nephew, Woody Viereck; great nephews, Woody, James, and Jacob; and great-niece, Mckenzy. 

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
