Charles Rabb

Canton – Francis Charles Rabb, 71, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at John F. Keever Solace Center.

Charles was born on September 17, 1949, a native of Berkeley, California and a son of the late Hugh Selby and Vivian Elizabeth Sullivan Cheshier.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Lee; and a nephew, Michael Lee.  He loved his family and friends, both near and far, along with his five dogs whom he loved dearly.  Charles enjoyed his job, cooking and making people happy.  Another enjoyment of his was camping, fishing, and his family, but most of all he loved his Mrs. Rebecca.  He worked at Dayco for 29 years, Western Steer for nine years and his last job was at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Resort since 1997.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rebecca Brown Rabb; one daughter, Amanda Brown Rabb of Canton and two other children; two sisters, Carol Lee of Waynesville and Janice Sullivan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a close friend, Sherilee Aragon of Hendersonville.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Hobert and Gloria Brown of Waynesville, Angie Gibson, Tammy Thomas both of Asheville; Rhonda Gibson of Canton, Roger Gibson of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Travis Chandler and Reverend Larry Hunter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
