Charles enjoyed a distinguished career at Champion International, where he worked in the Waste Treatment Plant for 34 years. Throughout his life, he nurtured profound love for farming, a passion that he carried out for over three decades. This connection to the land was evident in the pride he took in raising exceptional tomatoes, as well as in the joy he found in fishing and spending time outdoors.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Charles served his country with honor and was proud to have pitched for the Navy softball team aboard the USS Ingersoll. Sports remained a vital part of his life as he took great pleasure in supporting his sons and their favorite teams, fostering a love for athletics in his family.

Charles was not only known for his work ethic but also for his strong faith. He was a cherished member of Riverside Baptist Church, where he contributed to the community around him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Willene Poston Singleton; three sons, Charles Michael Singleton (Anita), David Singleton (Kim), and Ronnie "Chester" Singleton (Charlie); and eight grandchildren, Sheena Stevens (Michael), Shanna Singleton, Sydney Greer (Chandler), Amanda Anderson (Ronnie), J.J. Singleton, Cameron Singleton, Tyler Singleton (Taylor), and Reeves Singleton (Dante). Additionally, he is remembered by several nieces and nephews who held him dear.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Virlee Chambers Singleton, as well as by two sisters, Iris Thompson and Novella Singleton; and one brother, Bernard Singleton. His legacy of love, integrity, and passion for life will continue to resonate within the hearts of those he leaves behind.
