Candler, Charles Benjamin Taylor, age 78, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late James Martin and Verna Frady Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his brother Paul Taylor. Charles was self employed in home-improvement and as a roofer. He was a very active member of Ridgeway Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Stroupe Taylor; two sons, Eddie Taylor and his wife, Wanda and Mike Taylor, and his wife, Rita, all of Candler; sister-in-law, Mary Rogers; brother-in-law Bruce Chapman; four grandchildren, Jennifer Garner and her husband, Kevin, Terry Taylor, Lisa McCurry and her husband, Casey and Josh Taylor; three great-grandchildrdn, Katie and AnnaLee Garner, and Josh Taylor and several nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Chigger The family would like to especially thank his caregiver Mary Denton with Carepartners for her love and care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
